The Cafe List

I spend a significant amount of my research time hiding in the cafes of Seoul.  With so much choice, it can be difficult to commit.  As a self-confessed coffee dependent, I will list the cafes I find meet my needs and more.  Forgive me if the bulk are in the Sinchon/Hongdae area….there’s no place like home 🙂

Cafe Ssong

For those that are looking for a place that’s not in the thick of the Sinchon madness, this cafe serves a purpose.  Let me clarify that for me there are 5 requirements for a cafe to see my business twice.  1.  Wifi internet.  2. Decent Coffee 3. Spacious desk options 4. Refill options 5. Food options

This cafe almost has it.  It’s quiet enough to get work done with some large tables to spread out, but also more intimate tables for those who are just wanting to chat.  They specialize in hand-drip coffee, and they put a lot of effort into researching their bean of choice.  Americano refills are 1,000won, and there are a few breads to choose from, though they are nothing really to write home about.

The atmosphere is open and bright with a dark ‘industrial’ interior.  If you’re looking for a place where you can set up to organize those chores in life, this cafe will do it for you.  Well, maybe not the chores…..

Directions:  Sinchon Station (Line 2) Exit 5, walk up the street, take the first right.  Cafe Ssong is on the first right corner.
